  As is shown in the material, the relationship between parents and their children is suffering (worsening). Some of the students seldom or never communicate with their parents. Several facts may account for the phenomenon.

  First of all, they have few common topics when communicating with each other because of age difference. Parents may merely focus on the school performance rather than what their children are interested in.

  For another, some of us depend too much on modern electronic devices such as phones, iPods , computers and so on… Anyway, these means of communication are popular among them. On the other hand, they chat with each other as they may have the same problems and feelings as peers.(同辈人)

  Last but not the least, some of the students are just seeking comfort from the virtual world (computer games) in order to escape the pressure from their school and parents.

 As a student, personally, I hold the view that we students should drop the phones sometimes and talk to our parents in a positive way.  Meanwhile, I do hope our parents can pay much more attention to our healthy growth instead of the school performance.  Only in this way can we and parents communicate like true friends.

  I am writing the letter to you for the purpose of asking you for assistance. Recently, research on finless porpoises has been conducted in Chongqing. What worries us is that the number of them is decreasing sharply and their number has dropped to less than 1,000.  To make matters worse, they are faced with extinction because of human’s activities. It is high time that we should take some effective measures to change the present horrible situation.

  Therefore, for one thing, I do hope you can help us by providing some valuable suggestions as to how to protect finless porpoises. For another, we are planning to establish a fund used to help people realize the significance of protecting them. Meanwhile, we are making every effort to raise money for the program. We would appreciate it if you can offer us some valuable experience in funding or necessary money.

  From my point of view, only by working together and helping each other can we build a more harmonious world. Don’t you think so? Thanks a lot.

I must say that I have been behaving this way to some degree. Though I know Mum is the most important person in my world, I just can not do what she likes me to do. It seems that I quite often stay away from my dear mum in playing my phone, sleeping, hanging out with my friend, or just shutting out my mum in my room.

Having read about the above common complaint from so many mothers, I feel ashamed and guilty. From now on, I shall try my best to stay with my dear parents as often as possible. Recently, the phenomenon of stuff exchanging has caused my attention. For me, I am looking forward to getting a watch by giving my computer out.

There are two reasons for this exchange. For one thing, this computer, popular-brand and stable, is available at my home.Though it looks old, the softwares and hardwares go well in it. Despite the tiring appearance, it never makes troubles eventually. For another, Never have i worn a watch. On condition that a watch were as profitable as the computer, i would be thankful. We are leaving school and we decide to give a gift to Mr Li who has taught us for three years.

Two suggestions have been provided by our classmates. One is that we may give him an album

Mr Li. First, an album is easier to be kept than a tape. A tape may be easily destroyed a few years

August——8月

November——11月

罗马皇帝奥古斯都和凯撒都有了自己名字命名的月份，罗马市民和元老院要求当时的罗马皇帝梯比里乌斯用其名命名11月。但梯比里乌斯没有同意，他明智地 对大家说，如果罗马每个皇帝都用自己的名字来命名月份，那么出现了第13个皇帝怎么办？于是，11月仍然保留着旧称Novem，即拉丁文“9”的意思。英语11月 November便由此演变而来。
