第一篇
Directions:
For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short easy on the picture below. You should start your easy with a brief account of the increasing use of the mobile phone in people’s life and then explain the consequences of overusing it. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.
People are crossing the street looking at their cell phones and using sticks in order to see.
范文:
The overusing of cell phones
This picture portrays an ironic situation: on the road, stands a man, who is completely concentrating on his cellphone whereas using a stick for direction, which implies the unprecedented popularity or even overusing cell phones nowadays.
Exaggerated as the picture is, the phenomenon behind it is rather thought-provoking. With the development of high-tech equipment, especially smart phones, people in growing numbers tend to become addicted to the excessive use of them. According to a survey carried out in China Daily several days ago, almost 47% of citizens explain that they would experience certain kind of anxiety without cellphones at hand. Meanwhile, the overusing cellphones, firstly would exert detrimental impact on the health of us. What's worse, it would perform a negative character in interpersonal relationship since we have less time to communicate.
Judging from the evidence above, certain measures should be taken. Firstly, certain institutions in China should launch relevant campaigns to limit the excessive use of cellphones. Moreover, we, as college students, should put emphasis on it right from ourselves as a start.
第二篇
The modern technology has greatly altered the mode of communication among people. With the help of the Internet, people can easily contact each other anytime anywhere. However, the side effect is that many people have become over-dependent on the Internet and neglected face-to-face communication.
As far as I'm concerned, electronic communication cannot fully replace the direct contact among people. Although it seems to bring everyone together, it actually estranges people and decreases the effectiveness of communication. A typical example is that, traditionally, people working in the same office simply walk to others and talk. Today, however, co-workers tend to send e-mails or instant messages through the Internet even when they are sitting next to each other. As words can never convey the full message, it usually takes much more time and rounds of conversation than face-to-face communication, in which people can discuss more directly with less loss of information.
To conclude, the Internet enables more effective communication in some situations, but over-dependence on it actually pulls people apart.

第三篇
漫画对白:Once I learn how to use google, isn't that all the education I really need?
范文:
The impact of the Internet on learning
In the age of knowledge explosion, the Internet opens a magical portal for learners to get access to seemingly incessant information. But is information equal to knowledge? “Once I learn how to use google, isn't that all the education I really need?” This question fully embodies the prejudiced opinion that as long as people acquire abundant information, they will get proper education.
The reason why education doesn't simply mean learning to obtain information is that education is not limited to the hard facts or theories students can learn from their textbooks or the Internet. It relates to a wider scope ranging from the obtainment of practical skills to the development of characters, which are hard for students to learn simply by googling. Consequently, comprehensive learning in schools that includes learning knowledge, conducting experiments and communicating with peers is what true education is.
In a word, the Internet does provide valuable information for learners, but people should be fully conscious of the essence of education and learn to tell the right from the wrong.

On Excessive Packaging
I assume that you are familiar with the phenomenon of “Excessive Packaging”. Taking a look around,we can find examples with ease:a small computer is packed in a thick and heavycarton, clothes are putted in a well-designed plastic bagsand moon-cakes are usually placed in delicate boxes.
What are the causes of this problem? On the one hand, to earn moreeconomic gains, a considerable number of manufactures usually wrap their products with unnecessary but appealing materials aiming at attracting customer’s attention , arousing their curiosity and then stimulating their purchasing desire. On the other hand, quite a few customers believe that the moredelicate the package seems, the superior the quality will be,the notion has also encouraged the trend of excessive packaging.
To change this situation, I think we should take the following measures. First, laws must be made and implemented to impose restriction onexcessive packaging. Moreover, a public education campaign should be launched to arouse customers' consciousness that packaging doesn't equal to quality. Only in this way can we put an end to this trend. (185words)
In recent years, the excessive use of packages has become quite a serious problem in China. As for
the reasons of excessively packaging, there are many factors contributing to it.
It is conceivable that the excessive packaging has mainly arisen from the two following factors. For one thing, people in mounting numbers are inclined to send a variety of gifts to their relatives and friends, especially during the holidays, and decorated gifts sometimes are a symbol of good taste. For another, the dealers are in the purpose of making more money by packaging the products to the largest extent.
Taking all the above-mentioned factors into consideration, it is quite urgent for us to take effective measures to cope with it. We consumers should basically concentrate more on the quality of the commodities rather than the packages; meanwhile, the government should also put restrictions on the excessive packaging. Only in this way can we guarantee the harmonious development of the market as well as ourselves.
