What qualities do you have that will make you a good accountant?
Nowadays the international business environment has raised new criteria for accounting professional working in a global framework. I believe my clear vision and broad perspective make me stand in an advantageous starting point to be an excellent accountant. Accounting is not simply a job of book entry, but more importantly, a crucial process of streamlining the corporate and finance processes. In both college and workplace, I have strived to see through such processes and feel deeper of the rationales behind the veils of various numbers and rules, so that I can add more values to the services I can provide as an accountant.
I possess unusually sharp senses and natural affinity toward numbers and figures, something that I believe a good accountant can not live without. A pride to me ever since my high school, my strength in mathematics gave me a huge edge in winning multiple math contests and excelling in exams. In 20xx, I entered college and my understandings of accounting have been reinforced immensely as my studies in relevant college-level courses such as statistics, advanced algebra, micro-economics,

Unlike my peers who are satisfied with class instructions, I took the initiative to study for management accounting, financial accounting of ACCA to strengthen my professional training. This confidence, I believe, can grow stronger after a quality graduate degree in US with well-rounded training and preparation for the CPA exam and GAAP rules. Practical and down to earth, I see accounting as a line of work that goes beyond pages of textbooks. My most significant accounting experience so far was working as a trainee accountant in the Auditing division of Shanghai AnDaHuaXin Certified Public Accountants Co., Ltd. This valuable internship that I still work on taught me the essences of real accounting works in daily life as a habit, not simply a job. I learn the importance to control your time and plan your energy at works, especially for our accountants in handling immensely substantial amount of figures, numbers and data.

Besides the several major projects in AnDa that I am in charge for serving the real estate companies, I was often called upon to do many time-sensitive and minor tasks, such as fillings at the close of the quarterly season, conducting primary works on raw income and revenue data on specific accounts, and sorting out financial reports for management meeting.
Sensible with details and sensitive to changes, I keep this also as my tenet in work. What are you hoping to achieve during your studies in the MAcc Program?
In William Mary MACC program, I will try my best to prepare myself both theoretically in fundamentals of auditing principles and details, and practically in terms of hands-on of updated accounting cases and analysis. A MACC degree, in this sense, is my boot-camp to train me in terms of satisfactions of the necessary requirements for CPA and professional titles.
The focal points of my concentration in William Mary shall be advanced auditing, including its theory basis, regulatory rationales, and practical concerns. William Mary’s MACC is renowned for its strength in this area and I believe my studies will be better guided with your highly interactive faculty and teaching environment. I particularly like the small classes and targeted curriculum in MACC program of William Mary. I hope to learn more from the seasoned faculty members and participate more actively in any available research programs in MACC program.
Beyond learning of auditing details, I want to broaden my views to cover a wide range of major learning areas, such as the complexities of financial market operations and their impacts to accounting presentations. Legal framework changes and economic patterns or fluctuations, as well as the key regulatory issues should be areas that I on such as , etc, all of which are necessary groundwork I believe will be good use in future career as an accountant.
More importantly, William Mary’s MACC will allow me to feel the pace and tempo of a real-time accountant in workplace, better preparing me for the new challenges. I do not like programs with only page-to-page theoretical teachings, while MACC in William Mary prides itself for its ample job and career assistance plans, with which I can take better advantages than others to secure positions in good work environment and make use of the William Mary alumni network for career development.
