A successful young banker Andy found his wife fornicating(['f?:nikeit] 与….通奸) with a baseball coach([k?ut?] ). He flew into a fury（['fju?ri] 狂怒；暴怒；激怒者） and planned to shoot them dead at one night. But at last he gave up. His reason won his emotion. Surprisingly, his wife and her lover died at that night. Andy was framed([freimd] 遭到陷害的) for murder. And the sentence（['sent?ns] 判决 宣判） was two life imprisonments（[im'priz?nm?nt] 监禁，关押；坐牢；下狱）（两个无期徒刑）. He was sent into Shawshank prison. ? That was a dark and gloomy（['ɡlu:mi] 黑暗的；沮丧的；阴郁的） hell with

mad prisoners, cruel warders（'w?:d?] 典狱官 ） and viperous（['vaip?r?s] 毒蛇般的；阴险的；有毒的）and greedy wardenry(['w?:d?nr:i] 监狱长).The first night Andy spent in it a new comer like Andy couldn’t bear the fear and kept crying and shouting. The result was he was taken out and beaten dead by the warders('w?:d?] 典狱官). At that moment, Andy understood that if he wants to live he must be silent in Shawshank.( I want to quote a line from "Shawshank Redemption([ri'demp??n] 赎回，拯救) ". "Hope is a good thing , maybe the best of things , and no good thing ever dies .

二、《肖申克的救赎》的影评 The story may sound simple, but the truth behind the words is remarkable. When I heard the name of the film first time, I considered the Shawshank to be a man’ name, but in face it is a jail——a hell in the world. Not only for the inhumanity of the jailors——they behaved brutally; but also for the jail gnawed at people’ heart by keeping them waiting and waiting as life passed. It seemed that only those utterly worthless people who gave up everything could survive. That’s where the story happened. The part impressed me most is when Andy got out of the jai. He extended his arms in front of him in the heavy rain as if he were welcoming the fresh air and the freedom. At that moment, I saw the faith win the darkness, discharging light dazzling the eyes in the dark blue sky. Under the light, I could feel my recreant innermost being shivering as his voice said: “Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!” That’s why I like this film: it encourages people to fight to preserve the dignity of human beings, to appreciate the beauty of life, and the most important is to keep hope forever. He once that is born, that is die. Everyone is the same. The only difference is whether busy living or busy dying. The film tells me even a man can live once, but if he keeps faith, keeps hope and works his life right, then once is enough. The faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark, the hope is the chief happiness that this world affords, and the life should be full of the singing of the bird and the happiness hope brings. " What’s that do you think? I have always heard that "The Shawshank Redemption" is a very good film, when I have watched it; I thought the film is very successful.

The film described a story. In Shawshank prison, there was a man called Andy. He was innocent .So he was always looking for opportunities to jail. He and Reed were good friends. One day, he asked Reed to give him a small hammer. In the night, he began to burrow in the wall, trying to escape from the prison. After nineteen years, he finally escaped. Later, Reed was released from the prison, and they lived a life of freedom.

In the film, Andy was free finally in 19 years because of maintaining a persistent heart. Andy told us what the hope of life was. As what was said in the film: Everyone has their own God, if you have to give up yourself, who will save you! This film gave me a lot of touch and enlightenment, in real life, everyone will encounter many setbacks, at this time, what should we do? We need to be

When we watch the film The Shawshank Redemption, most of us are deeply impressed by Andy’s personal heroism.

I think that I will always cherish the memory of the sadness and loneliness when Brooks left the prison. That was a kind of silent struggle which was ignored by a group. I think that what made the difference was the power of hope. Andy was a representitive of the power of thoughts, an altitude of tenacious self-saving, a kind of struggle consciousness more than a great man of guidance. We don’t want to see the ‘wonder’ created by the director became a swan song. When you step over what you thought it was impossible, you will posses the beauty of the bloom in prosperous during your life.

The film ‘Shawshank Redemption’ is directed by Frank Darabont. The film is about Andy Dufresne, the main

character, whose was treated unjustly had bend sent to Shawshank Prison. He is innocent, but lawyer did wrong to him. He got 2 life-sentences back to back which means he would stay at the dirty place for his whole life. But he did not just resign to fate; he tried to fight for his freedom; for the hope to escape. However, things always cannot predict.

I recommended this film to my 6 form ESOL reading club. There are 2 reasons why I recommended this film. First, this film used third person narration technique. This technique helped me understand the main character, also, this technique make the whole film is quiet; make guardians feel peaceful. Second, one of the themes

about this film that is redemption drove me think a lot. In my opinion, everyone in this world needs redemption. This would help us to grow up and establish the value of the world.

keep hoping

I have knownThe Shawshank Redemption for a long time .It is a famous movie.Thanks to the summer holiday, I have such a good chance to watch it. When I heard the name of the movie for the first time, I considered theShawshank to be a man’ name, but in fact it is a jail’s name——a hell in the world. Every time ,we know it i s necessary to keep hoping .However , if you were in such a hell ,would you keep hoping?

Yes ,you shoud.Andy gave you the best answer."Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!"Every one got despir in the Shawshank except Andy.His best friend ,Red,told him ," These walls are kind of funny like that. First you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. That’s institutionalized."They tried too many times but they never finish it, so they gave up. Andy tried. He has the bright brain ,the never fading persistent,and the most impotant thing----hope.He put up some poster withbeauty.Then he used his wisdom and talents to help his warden and prison officer make money.To his credit,he had written letters to the government so that the prisoners could read.He brought hopes to the prisoners.He worked hard to run away.In the end ,he succeeded.

My View Point on Shawshank Redemption

Abstract: This film Shawshank Redemption describes a man called Andy Dufresne was sent to the prison for he murdered his wife but in fact he was innocent. Then he started fighting against with the wicked prison life. Though he suffered many unfair treatments and ordeals, he never gives up himself. Due to his intelligence and perseverance, he spend 20 years successfully escape from the prison as a redemption. He teaches me that never lose hope.

The story took place in 1940. A man who is a banker called Andy Dufresne, was sent into the Shawshank prison, for he murderer his wife and her lover in bed. However, he was innocent as he said. The new days in the prison were hard to live. It’s violent, heartless and cruel. Nevertheless, A month later, Andy began to make friends with other prisoners. And one of them called Red, who could get anything what he wanted. Andy bought a mallet from him and started his plan to escape. During this time, he did many things: expanding the library, caving stones, helping the corrupt warden to get money or bribe, etc. Then a young prisoner’s coming break his quiet life in jail. But the warden killed the young prisoner the only man that knew Andy was innocent. Then he knew the prison he could not stay any more. It took him 20 years to tunnel secretly and he successfully escaped from the prison. When he got free, Andy sent the evident which could prove the warden corruption, briber and murdering to the policy agency. Before that, Andy had told his best friend Red that his dream---Zihuatanejo, a warm place without memory. After escaping, Andy lived a free life in another identity and made the prison governor arrested. Several years later, Red was approved to leave. for the promise to Andy. Finally, in Zihuyatanejo, they met.
