篇二 :book review of Pride and prejudic傲慢与偏见读后感

Book Review of Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is unquestionably a classic romantic story that has kidnapped generation after generation. Ordinary as I am, I am as well drowning in the waves of this outstanding love, and cannot even bring myself off. So strong is my feeling that it squeezes to burst out here.

The first wave that conquers my mind is the love between Darcy and Elizabeth. Darcy, an arrogant and undoubtedly wealthy gentleman, is deeply in love with Elizabeth who is smart, pretty and at the same time, biased towards the former. Naturally, the two characters will not have any intersections, and may have worked as the old adage “You take the open road and I'll cross the log bridge”; however, these two special characteristics----pride and prejudice----are bumped against each other and even spark at the end through the tactful design of the brilliant author Jane Austen. To begin with, Darcy and Elizabeth have not realized that their own personality defect is the main stumbling block of their getting closer, taking for granted that the other is the one that should be blamed rather than search their inner world and find out his or her own weakness. After an unhappy proposal saturated with the air of shock, irritation and self-questioning, Darcy and Elizabeth both come to awareness that they are so self-centered, one too proud of himself to notice the others and the other too jaundiced to figure out the truth, that they were firmly caught by the ignorance of the bright side of life. During the following period, both of them retrieve virtue that have been neglected and gradually, fall in love with each other. After a second reading, I find that what impressed me most is their process of retrieval, their overcoming themselves to get back the lost goodness. Obviously, we should be tolerant and concerned about others, not being too full of ourselves or sticking to our biased personal feeling towards others, but adhering to the fact that the others also have their own advantages or the fact that can lead to impartial judgments.

篇四 :my reading report on Robinson Crusoe

Persistence + Courage + Optimism =Miracle

——My reflection on Robinson Crusoe

It seems to be impropriate to give an equation title to an article. But that’s really what comes in my mind in the first place the moment I finish reading the famous literary masterpiece . Despite the fact that it is a novel, creation of a man, I just regard the whole story as a miracle, a miracle that can happen on our ordinary people.

This great masterpiece is authored by Daniel Defoe. It’s a painstaking effort of him, but to some extent, it’s another description of his real life. He’d been wandering around and tried different jobs, just like Crusoe’s inclination to get on board to experience adventures. He encountered an unbearable difficulty when he was 32, a man’s prime age, just like about eighteen-year-old Crusoe’s landing on the uninhibited island. He received great fame as well as some fortune to help him pay back some of the debts at the age of nearly 60 when he finished the book, while, coincidently, Crusoe’s back to England again cost him 28 years. I can feel his bitter struggles, tears and griefs, however, I read out three more important things——persistence, courage and optimism.

Title: The Little Prince

Author: Antoine de St-Exupery

Main Characters: The little prince, the pilot, the rose, the fox, the snake, etc.

Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. The tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The Little Prince.

As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not very complex. ―I‖, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the Asteroid B612. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. In that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

篇七 :《根》读后感

Roots by Alex Haley

Review by Beth L., Cattaraugus, NY

It begins with a child's birth in Africa. His parents name him Kunta Kinte, a strong, proud boy who later in life is kidnapped and taken to America to be sold into slavery. Roots follows his clan through seven generations, ending with Alex Haley himself. The book tells, in fascinating detail, the lives of Kunta Kinte, Kizzy Waller, "Chicken George" Lea, Tom Murray, Will Palmer, Simon Alexander Haley, and finally, the author. Throughout the book, African culture, as well as the culture of Americanized slaves, is introduced. One part of the book that especially grabbed my attention is a vivid, heart-wrenching description of the Middle Passage, describing the horrors that Africans experience on their trip into bondage.

Roots brings to life the heartbreak of slavery, families being separated and sold, which causes the reader to take another look at their culture and family. It compels all who read it to appreciate what they have. This novel emphasizes the importance of heritage, of knowing that our descendants are still alive in spirit, and that they have left a legacy for us to fulfill. Even though Roots is not for those who desire immediate gratification, with its extensive detail, my opinion is that

篇八 :《京华烟云》读后感

Recently, I read a book named moment in Peking. Moment in Peking is a historical novel originally written in English by the Chinese American author Lin Yutang. The novel covers the turbulent events in China from 1900 to 1938, including the Boxer Rebellion, the Republican Revolution of 1911, the Warlord Era, the rise of nationalism and

communism, and the origins of the Sino-Japanese War of 1937-1945.

The book most flash point is one of the natural Taoism. That way seems to filled with intelligence. The life and death, wealth, life of sorrow as a thorough look. I can not help but respect for the Zhuangzi. In my opinion , Zhuangzi’s philosophy in the book affected the Yao Mulan and Kong Lifu. First opened to me at first think that if rough waves, and then faint, flowing , followed by feel sad, the last before the storm feel that bleak situation, to end the great magnificent, secluded but only. let me came suddenly; What is life, where people dream, as a dream in we real life knows no boundaries. The protagonist of the story, Mulan, is from the wealthy Yao family. During the Boxer Rebellion she is kidnapped by bandits, and then rescued by the Tseng family; the two families thereafter become close friends. Mulan is lively, intelligent, and generous, as well as extremely responsible. Her father has always encouraged her interests, among them her intense interest in "oracle bones" (the study of ancient Chinese characters carved on bones) and the singing of Chinese Opera. Her intelligence, along with her kindhearted nature, catch the interest of a young man named Kung Lifu. Mulan feels attracted to Lifu, but she honors her family's wish and advice that she marry Sunya. Her marriage to Sunya is mostly harmonious. Together they have three children: Aman, Atung and Amei.
