A proverb says, “ You are only young once.”

It goes without saying that we cannot be young forever.

As everyone knows, No one can deny that…

According to a recent survey, about 78.9% of the college students wanted to further their study after their graduation.

Honesty

Travel by Bike

Youth

My thoughts about Edward Scissorhands

Last Thursday, I watched the film Edward Scissorhands which moved me a lot with my classmates. After watching this movie, I lost in thought.

Edward Scissorhands, directed by a brilliant visual director Tim Burton, is regarded as a modern fairy tale. The three leading roles are Edward, Winona Ryder, as well as Peg Boggs. This film mainly tells us the changes of Edward’s life after getting out of the ancient mansion and living with a family.

Living in his mansion for a long time, Edward was a little naive. He could do nothing but pruned trees. When he lives in that town, he was accepted by people after clipping the trees and dogs beautifully and ingeniously. He loves Winona Ryder, who was a beautiful girl but had a boyfriend. In the movie, Edward showed his love to Winona Ryder by going to steal the car for her, which made him caught by the office. After that, he felt a bit of depressed for the evil of people. So kind-hearted was he that he tried his best to save Kevin, Winona Ryder’s brother. Nevertheless, he neglected the hurt that he may cause others by his scissorhands, so what people saw was

It’s generally acknowledged that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Take a simple example as a painting. A cow by itself is just a cow, a meadow by itself is just grass, flowers, and the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light. But you put them all into a picture, it can be magic. That’s what the film “flipped” told us. However, the ideas it conveys can be far more than that.

Dazzling as Brice’s eyes were, Julli could see nothing but empty and poor soul when she stepped closer. Eccentric as Julli was, you will find her iridescent inner beauty and nothing will ever compare when you get to know her. Eyes or our behavior, are just and no more than part of our true being. If we only focus on these trifling small parts, we will lose the opportunity to go further and discover what can be more than our expected, about one’s spirit. More precisely, only when we see things as a whole, only when we combine the all together, something can really come out and possibly be felt. Only then can we communicate with one’s soul and therefore, capture the quintessence of a person. Here comes the explicit social rule, really getting to know people before you judge them, in fact, don’t judge them at all, but know them by their character.

The road not taken

The road not taken is a famous poem admired worldwide. After reading this short and simple poem, I’m deeply touched by its profound meanings. Apparently, the poet used ‘road’ as a metaphor of the choices that are of vital importance to our lives. Two roads lead to diverged directions, once you make up your mind; you are destined to go on until the end of your days.

I do appreciate the poet’s attitude towards life. When he was young, he might neither know much about human joys and sorrows nor have ideas of how tough life could be. But with a heart to pursue freedom, and an ambition to be somebody someday, he decided to choose the road less traveled by. I believe that almost every young people will be brave enough to make such decisions. And if I was the poet I would do the same decision .Because I think we should follow our heart to do things which we really like to do .but not just do something that your parents expect .Once you choose the road not taken. You have to go on like the poet until the end of you days and never feel regret about it

,After watching 《The Truman Show》 what impressed me most is

the ugly behaviors in the process of commercialization of mass media which is self seeking and trample human rights. When Truman is only a fetus ,the Reality show has already began . Daily life exposure in the perspective of the people, so do not we ? They just do not put the camera before us .The let us can’t help asking ourselves :”Maybe everyone around me is in a play” “Is my life also in surveillance ,I have lacked of the privacy”

Some people said life is like a play except that there is no dress

rehearsal, Perhaps this is my another inspiration for the film .Human living in the world need to play many many roles., Each role

requires different content . Only facing the play ,can human take their own and improve ourselves in the struggle.

(A general survey of English vocabulary),第二部分即Chapter Ⅱ到Chapter Ⅳ 的英语词汇的形态结构和构词法(Morphological structure of English words and word-formation ),第三部分即ChapterⅤ到ChapterⅨ的词义及其语义关系(Word meaning and sense relations),第四部分是Chapter Ⅹ到Chapter ⅩⅡ的英语习语,美国英语,英语词典的使用和选择(English idioms,American English , choice and use of English dictionaries ).

Chapter Ⅰ

(A general survey of English vocabulary)

The Call of the Wild

I About Jack London

Jack London (born Jan. 12, 1876, died Nov. 22, 1916) was born in San Francisco and became the most successful writer in America in the early 20th century. He was deserted by his father, "Professor" William Henry Chaney, an itinerant astrologer and raised in Oakland by his mother Flora Wellman, a music teacher and spiritualist. His stepfather John London, whose surname he took, was a failed storekeeper. London's youth was marked by poverty. He is an illegitimate child, he passed his childhood in poverty in the Oakland slums. At the age of 17, he ventured to sea on a sealing ship. The turning point of his life was a thirty-day imprisonment that was so degrading it made him decide to turn to education and pursue a career in writing.

He is best known for his books and a few short stories. He experimented with many literary forms, from conventional love stories and dystopias to science fantasy. His noted journalism included war correspondence, boxing stories, and the life of Molokai lepers. A committed socialist, he insisted against editorial pressures to write political essays and insert social criticism in his fiction. He was among the most influential figures of his day, who understood how to create a public person and use the media to market his self-created image of poor-boy-turned-success. London's great passion was agriculture, and he was well on the way of creating a new model for ranching through his Beauty Ranch when he died of kidney disease at age 40. He left over fifty books of novels, stories, journalism, and essays, many of which have been translated and continue to be read around the world.
