THE first time I saw Bao was in 2005, the year when Thomas and Uber Cup was held. At that time he was playing against Li zongwei, who is also a good player from Malaysia. Bao beat him. To tell the truth, at first the reason why I liked him was just because I thought he was pretty.*(maybe it is not a suitable word, but I think no better word can describe him, he is really pretty!) They said that, though people received far more money than ever, their standard for happiness also rised. That means, if you had one yuan, a car might be your dream, but if you had one million, you might consider owning a space trip. So when people always hope for those they can not afford, they will push themselves to an unhappy situation.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today, our topic is about procrastination.

Well, what is procrastination? Generally speaking, procrastination is an act of putting of an essential task until a later time. And there is no doubt that procrastination will do harm to our study and health.

Let’s see some behavior of a procrastinator. When the deadline is set, he will think there is one week until the assignment is due. So he has the false sense of security. I have plenty of time. As time passes, he will think that I will get started soon because I can only work under great pressure. And when the last day is coming, he hurries to do his work panickily and under great pressure.

And the case of us is often that. Today I must write my paper, so I haven’t to be online. Well, I need to search some statistics, so I must use computer. And the tragedy happens on us. An evening is killed by our entertainment.

课前演讲小天地 学生成长大舞台

英语是一门实践性很强的学科，英语能力是在听说读写的实践中形成的，“英语是越不说越不会说；越不会说越不敢说。”我在实践中发现课前小演讲能激发学生的兴趣，促使孩子主动去寻找自己感兴趣的材料、绞尽脑汁的去寻找或自己动手写材料，说自己想说的、想表达的话，它是解决“没什么可说”的这一难题的重要途径之一。开展英语课前一分钟小演讲活动，目的是给学生创造更充足的时空，去体验英语学习的乐趣，从而发展学生的综合语言运用能力。

开展英语课前一分钟小演讲活动有利于调动学生学习英语的积极性，培养学生对英语学习的兴趣；有利于因材施教，克服课堂教学的局限性，满足学生学习的多样性；有利于增加英语实践的机会，培养创新合作的精神，发展智力和个性、展现才能；有利于学生提高跨文化交际意识，培养学生的合作意识、集体观念； 有利于“师生之间建立起一种超越课堂教育范围的纽带”。

我在每次上英语课前，安排一名学生走上讲台进行英文小演讲：所谓小演讲就是用英语进行自我介绍、讲述自己的经历、也可以是一段对话、一则诗歌、一个小故事或者一段文章甚至一个小短剧，也可以教同学们一句谚语、一首诗等，每涉及到新单词和词组，在课前都写在黑板上，以此来鼓励学生进行课外阅读，收集课外新词，以促使学生们之间合作学习。让学生上台讲成语故事、名人名言或谚语，坚持多年，大有成效。 在讲之前，学生必须先做准备，阅读、记忆故事内容，明白所讲成语故事（名人名言或谚语）的原来意义和现实教育意义。最关键的一点是站在台上时，仪态要大方，声音要洪亮。讲完以后，同学之间相互评价，指出优缺点。这样坚持做下来，时间一长，学生的听说能力在不知不觉中有了提高。每天一分钟，时间不算长，却无形当中教会学生许多做人的道理。

我还经常围绕这些主题让学生选择开展英文小演讲：

1. 单词联想。

老师给出一个单词，例如:food。学生可以用它组词，讲一个英语小故事。

Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing for.Sometimes success would be rather simple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.

However, as a person's whole life is concerned, success becomes very complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social status success? No, I don't think so. I believe success is the realization of people' s hopes and

ideals.Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who are regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is real success. We all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people' hopes and ideals.
