篇一 :tpo23大作文范文

The question of whether working quickly and making some mistakes are more essential than working gradually and ensuring not to make mistakes sparks on a fierce debate. Some people tend to work quickly to ensure they can survive in modern society while others are used to working slowly to ensure they have a stable job. As far as i am concerned, to work quickly and to risk posing mistakes are more significant on account of the rapid development of society and the great competitiveness.

On one hand, the great competitiveness of the modern society compels us to work dramatically and adventures to make mistakes. Nowadays, there are the minority of elites to search for sundry jobs in various slope, especially in China, some of whom possibly come from college on one hand, maybe others have brilliant work experience on the other hand. Therefore a few people have to possess a competitive edge that forces them to experience a rapid work and try to finish many cases to obtain the boss’ appreciation, in particular when finding jobs without further background. If people cannot own this kind of characteristic, they have the possibility of being replaced quickly by others who have this ability.

In terms whether the zebra mussel will exert negative influence on North American, the passage and lecture are contradictory to each other. The author believes that zebra mussel might do harm the local species as they arrived while the lecturer holds a different opinion.

First of all, the author makes a point that the history events suggest the zebra mussel's invasion is unstoppable. In the past, human transportation makes it possible for zebra mussel spread around the whole Europe and it is likely to happen again in North American. However, the lecturer demonstrates a different idea that a change made in the "ballast water" will prevent the invasion of zebra mussel from continuing. He says that if we refill the "ballast water" with ocean water, the mussel will no longer survive because the saline water might probably kill them all.

In the reading, it mainly talks about that Rorbot E Peary has been to north pole because it has three striking evidneces. However, in the lecture, the professor thinks that the points provided in the reading are not convencing.

First of all, the reading points out that at the end of the investigation, the committee has concluded that Rorbot E Peary has been to the north pole. Nevertheless, the professor believes that the committee was not objective at all. Firstly, it was writed by his friends. What’s more, the investigation only msintained for two days and they can get precise conclusion in such a short time. So the committee is biased.

In addition, the reading states that the English explorer Tom Avery has proved the truth that the Rorbot E Peary could reach the north pole within 37 days. Topic: parents are more involved in their children’s education than the parents in the past.

It is not uncommon to see that parents are have incredible zael to participate into their children’s education in many perspectives. At contemporary society, parents always take part in some semilars that are related to students’s study and force their children to join the extra-curricula classes which can help their chldren to improve acdemic performance. Therefore, as far as I am considerd, nowadays, parents’ involvement in kids’ study is much more emphasized than ever before.

Compared with the parents in the past, parents at present, have a strong will to make their children more competent in the future career. With the development of the society, the compitition in the modern society is increasingly fierce than ever before. Every parents want their children not only can survive in the compitition but also want them to be successful in the future. Hence, those parents take pains to achieve this ambitions on their own way and consequently, because they think education is the gateway to seccess, they should be involved in their children’ s study and help their children as well. On the contrary, because of the low living standre, parents in the past only think how to bring chilren up and let them survive, so there is no time for them to have such ambitions. Therefore, it is reasonable for us to think that parents nowdays are more interseted in children’s education.

The passage claims that wood companies in US would probably not receive ecocertification as companies in other countries do. While, in the lecture, the professor points out several points to substantiate that American wood companies would be most likely to advertising their products by pursuing ecocertification.

First of all, the professor claims that consumers in American pay less attention to advertising and, in fact, they value the advertising which independent from companies, like Consumer Agency. Certainly, consumers in America would like their products to become more environmentally-friendly. Therefore, wood companies in US would want to receive this ecocertification to gain reputation. That differs from what the passage states that consumers would not value the eco-healthy label as much as these labels 'new' or 'improved'.

In the reading material, the author gives three reasons to prove the truth that Peary had reached the North Pole. However, in the listening part, the professor claims that the reasons mentioned in the reasing are not convincing at all.

First, the writer says that the committee declared that Peary had indeed reached the North Pole. The professor adimits that the committee had declared that, but it cannot prove anything. He says that the committee was not objective. It was composed of Peary's friends and Peary was one of the donators. And the investigation had lasted just two days. So the evidence from the committee is not convincing.

What's more, it is mentioned in the reading material that Tom Avery had reached the North Pole in less time than Peary did with the same conditions, which could prove that it was possible that Peary had reached the North Pole. The speaker refutes that claim by pointing out that Avery didn't carry many things as Peary did. The food for Avery were dropped by airplane. And the weather condition of Avery's trip was better than that of Peary. So it cannot prove that Peary had been to the North Pole.

The lecturer points out three different shortcomings of genetically modified trees. In the aspects of adaptation, economic lucrativeness, and environmental value, they never have overwhelming advantage over natural trees. That means the points made in the reading are partial and biased.

First, genetic modification doesn’t necessarily make a natural tree more resistant to environmental adversities. Although genetic reconstructing may make a species stronger in a specific condition as the reading indicates, the new strain lakes the genetic diversity of a natural species. Thanks to the marginal differences between individuals, there can always be some survivors among natural species following a large

interruption like climate change or pest invasion. But similar changes may cause the distinction of a genetically modified species for their unification in characteristics.

The reading passage explores the topic of the “Let it burn” policy. The professor’s lecture deals with the same issue. However, she thinks that the “Let it burn” policy is fundamental positive policy, which contradicts what the reading states. And in the lecture, she uses three specific points to support her idea.

First, the professor argues in the lecture that the fire enhanced the diversity of vegetation in Yellowstone Park, even though the reading passage suggests that Yellowstone fires caused tremendous damage to the park's trees and other vegetation. This is because that the fire has created a opportunity for some new plants to grow, for instance, the small plants which needed open un-shaded area and the seeds which demanded high levels of heat to germinate, which means that the small vegetations would had a better environment after the large trees had been destroyed. Obviously, the professor's argument disproves its counterpart in the reading.
